Happy 5th Birthday Yummie!

It’s been an amazing five years here at Yummie Tummie, and we wanted to celebrate by
checking in with Heather to get the scoop on her life and business, the Real Housewives of New
York City, and what’s new and exciting for spring.

1. What are you excited about this year?
I’m really excited about all things Yummie. We’re 5 years old now, which is typically a pivotal
point for a young company, and the sky is the limit, with a very positive future ahead of us! I
love that more and more women are getting to know the brand and falling in love with what
we do for them. And we’ll have even more to offer them this year with extraordinary new
collections and design innovations.

2. It’s been four months since the Real Housewives of New York City aired. What’s up with the
other women?

The ladies are doing great. Carole’s been busy working on her book edits and screenplay.
Ramona is still working hard and promoting her pinot grigio! Luanne has been traveling a bit
with Jacques and recently spent time back in Morocco. Sonja’s been traveling a lot too. I haven’t
spoken to Aviva since the show, which is funny because we used to talk daily during filming. So
you’ll have to ask her what she is up to.

3. What do you think about the editing on the show?
Editors on these kinds of shows can take a hit, but I give them kudos. Really what they do is
hone in on the quirky and funny sides of your personality, physical attributes, or behaviors. You
may have noticed that I have a big smile and I smile a lot – and the way they cut to me and my
smile is pretty funny. You’ve got to have a sense of humor and laugh along with it all!

4. Can we look forward to another season in New York?
Bravo likes to keep the suspense going and holds things pretty close to the vest, but the
franchise is a strong one and isn’t going anywhere. But we’ll just have to wait and see what’s
going to be poppin’ and crackin’ for next season just like everyone else!

5. What’s new and yummie for spring?
You’re going to love our new Pretty Powerful collection that launches this spring. We’ve taken
this innovative Lycra® beauty fabric and used it to create gorgeous and feminine styles that
shape your curves beautifully. I always say shapewear should be something you want to wear –
it should make you feel pretty and powerful. And that’s just what this new collection does.

6. What’s going on with Yummie Denim?
Women are really catching on to how amazing Yummie Denim is for them. It slims, shapes, lifts,
and holds its shape with no bagging or sagging. It’s just so flattering, comfortable, and easy to wear. You can look forward to seeing a new wash and an exciting skimmer cut that’s right on
trend for spring and summer. They come in fun to wear colors that go great with everything
from flip flops to low tops to stilettos!

7. What about leggings? Are there more styles coming?
We had so much fun with our slimming leggings this past year offering lots of new styles, prints,
and textures that were really popular – they were featured by Julie Chen for her birthday on
The Talk! You’ll see even more new colors and legging styles for spring and summer, including
skimmers and seamless. (We are also launching our innovative new footed legging this fall –
shhh!)

8. If you weren’t a fashion designer, what would you be?
It’s hard to say because fashion design has been my passion since I was a little girl cutting
patterns out on my bedroom floor. It would definitely have to be something artistic. I love
painting and sculpting with clay, so maybe a more traditional artist. But I’m really interested in
the business side of things too, and I could see myself running a gallery. I also love music and the
music industry, so song writing and producing music would be awesome!

9. We all have our guilty pleasures. What’s yours?
I’d have to say shopping. I love to shop for shoes and clothes (it’s my most favorite hobby!). As
a working mom who’s always trying to balance business and family, I don’t have much time to
indulge myself. But maybe that’s a good thing because it stops me from spending money!

10. What’s on your iPod right now?
My five-year-old daughter’s favorite songs are currently taking over my iPod. She loves Carly
Rae Jepson and One Direction. Lately, when I’m able to get it back from her, I’ve been listening
to some classic rock artists like Led Zeppelin, Tom Petty, and Heart.

Can’t get enough of Heather? Don’t miss her style tips for rocking our comfortable slimming
tanks. Check them out now.

Congratulations Heather! I love Yummie Tummie. I have emailed your sight but haven’t received a response. A while back you were on Good Morning America and offered a discount on Yummie Tummie. When you went to order, the discount would not go through, so I went to GMA’s website and the date was wrong. I believe it said good from January 11 – 12, 2012 when it should have been 2013. I also emailed the GMA website but no response. Can you help me?
    Thanks!

Happy 5 Heather. Love your products but when will you be designing something for tall women. I am 6′ tall with a 36″ inseam and all shapewear hits me right where it’s impossible to keep tucked in my pants. If only everything was just maybe 2″ or 3″ longer..I would be in heaven!!

      Thanks everyone! We appreciate it!

Debbie – we have the Strappy Tank in long length and the Joelle tank although not labeled long, can stretch out to be quite long due to the fact that it is made up of a stretch compact cotton. We will be offering the Carolyn Tank in Long starting in May.
