When I think of the classic LBD, I think of all the ways I like to wear it. In fact, one of my latest designs and newest wardrobe “must haves” is from my fall collection, the Ella Rae dress.
It’s black, it’s slimming, it’s super comfortable, it’s easy to wear, and it’s one of those pieces you just can’t live without! If you want to feel Yummie, slim your look and have fun, below are several ways this dress work for all of your holiday and day-to-night occasions.
I have literally worn this dress for all scenarios I describe below, and can personally guarantee that all of my tips for styling the Ella Rae will also work with every little black dress hanging in your closet!
Rock it for Work
- A classic blazer, trend-right fur vest, or sleeveless sweater makes for a warm, stylish and chic look
- Add some luxe with lots of long chains or chunky bangles
- Dress it up with a pair of black pumps – there is nothing more slimming than black, opaque tights and a beautiful pair of black pumps
After Work Soiree
- Take off the jacket or sweater and strut the dress all by itself, with the perfect clutch you grabbed on your way out the door
- Go from black tights to fishnet or black lace for an almost entirely new look
- Add a scarf around your neck with some darker lipstick and you are ready for cocktail hour
Weekend Errands/ Brunch with Friends
- Add a yummie cardigan sweater and some flat, over-the-knee biker boots for a casual, played down chic
- Throw on some footless tights and clean, simple flats with a cross-body bag for a more bohemian look
Date night
- High platform black heels and a cropped leather jacket to show off you waistline and channel your inner diva!
- For cocktail attire, add dangling earrings and fishnets, with an open toe and you will be divine
- Keep your eye make up low-key, and add a vivid red lip
As you can see, the options for styling a LBD are virtually limitless! Try out one or all, or even better, share your favorite ideas in the comments.
Stay yummie!

Dear Yummies,
I’m loving the adventurous, wearable trends that are so popular this season, especially because they are so versatile, and pair up easily with closet staples. With a few well-picked pieces, you can update your wardrobe with super hot utility-chic, nautical and ladylike looks.
To show how easy and fantastic these looks can be, I got together with New York Nonstop’s Roseanne Colletti, and Bonnie Fuller of HollywoodLife.com, and we styled several models. Check out the shots from the segment to see all of the looks, including these highlights:

Skinny and dark, low-rise jeans carry the rocker glam trend into Fall. And don’t fear stripes! Traditionally women worry that stripes make you look heavy, but the throw style of this wrap is flattering and chic. The essential element to this look is the Yummie Tummie Skinny Tank that blasts away your muffin top: it smoothes out your tummy for a clean line and sleek look.
Tough and sexy utility is the look here, pairing a basic black t-shirt with a beautiful, ruched and sexy skirt, lots of bangles and booties, thigh high or peep toe bootie. The drape of this mini lets you relax your middle while the Yummie Tummie ¾ sleeve crew neck t-shirt gives you the smoothing power you need to be your streamlined best.
The dress remains a strong silhouette this season. Hemlines are all about the knee, either just at or way above. The Ella Rae is one of my personal wardrobe essentials, because it’s easy while being on trend. The shoulder detail and length add sophistication, while its slimming inner panel smoothes your shape and boosts your confidence in clingy but delicious rayon knit.
Love the looks? Check back soon to see the video for even more style ensembles and remember, you always get free shipping on orders of $100 or more.

Good fitting basics are essential to every wardrobe, and the classic white tee is the perfect foundation for styling both classic fashion and trend-right looks.
Start out by trying different sleeve lengths and different neck lines to shake up your white T-shirt routine. Then experiment with these fashion suggestions, shaping them to fit your own individual style — and remember to Show It Off!
Simple Basic to Fashion Statement!
Just moving away from same ‘ole style will make this everyday essential fresh and new. Go for something new, and remember, fashion is about fun!
Accessorize!
- A scarf is an easy way to add a touch of chic to every outfit
- Grab some chunky jewelry! Bib necklaces, big rings, cuffs and stacks of bangles dress it up
Retro right!
- Pair with dark skinny jeans, a vest and clean Converse and a hat
- Cuff a pair of washed out boyfriend jeans and throw on an oversize blazer — finish off with flats for day, booties for night
Short and Sassy!
- Tuck into a short, structured skirt, show off those legs, and finish off the look with a pair of peep toe ankle boots for on-trend WOW
Long and Lean!
- Layer over Yummie Shaping Leggings in black, top off with a leather motocross jacket and sky-high heels
- Tuck into sleek, black, high-waisted pants with tons of long necklaces, or wrist bangles, plus a plain satin clutch for an night out
Change it up!
- If you always wear ballet flats with skinny jeans, try switching to a riding boot, or high-waisted wide leg jean and wedge heels
More Yummie Ideas!
I always say that Yummie Tummie is for every woman. To see how versatile the classic white t-shirt can be, we gave eight fabulous fashion bloggers their choice of a white Yummie Tummie t-shirt styles:

Are you seeing the same baby boom around you that I am? Two close girlfriends plus my upstairs neighbor are all expecting. Mazel tov!
And we all know that everyone loves buying presents for babies. But I make a point of remembering the mamas, especially right after she arrives home and needs some yummie love and support!
I gained 68 pounds when I was pregnant with my son, Jax, who was born with bilary atresia. It’s a rare and life threatening liver condition, and getting him well enough to come home was the most important thing in the weeks after his birth. I didn’t have time or energy to work out, or diet to get back to my pre-baby weight — but that didn’t mean I was happy showing my belly to the world every time I reached in to adjust my nursing bra!
When I got pregnant with my daughter, Ella, a few years later (and gained 63 pounds!) I remembered my disappointment with the nursing tops on the market. So I designed the Yummie Tummie Nursing Tank that does it all: it allowed me to quickly and discreetly nurse my sweet girl, gave me gentle support around my core, slimmed my new post-baby tummie and was a stylish layering piece I could dress up or down.
Now I give the Yummie Nursing Tank to all of my expecting friends, who love it — especially the first-time moms! And the latest yummie collection has the perfect companion piece to the gift: the new Yummie Shaping Yoga Pants! I can’t seem to take these off! They slim, smooth and shape your tummie and are one of my most versatile pieces in my own personal collection yet!
Treat your Mom-to-be girlfriend (or yourself!) to this Yummie Mummie Combo. It’s a gift she’ll use — and love! — every day because it helps her look and feel great, without taking any time or attention away from the new center of her universe.

Note from a Yummie Fan:
If you are about to have a baby or just had a baby this is ESSENTIAL! I wear it pretty much every day; it looks great under everything… and makes breast-feeding a breeze! – Breanne in Grand Rapids, MI
